Benefits of Round Shower Stalls
Most people do not have a lot of room in their homes or bathrooms. It has become a game of what to eliminate, what to shrink and what to expand in order to get everything into the home. One of the hardest places to find things to shift around is the bathroom. Most of the items in the bathroom are absolute necessities such as the shower, toilet and sink. Through clever design ideas, the shower is where the biggest changes are coming. Enter, the round shower stalls. When showers first evolved, they were little more than pipes running from the tub facet up and out of a shower nozzle. These showers were more like additions to a bath tub rather than the primary method of cleaning one's self. This was the modern upgrade from the traditional bath tub that was more frequently used at that time. It was only after people realized how much cleaner they felt, how much water they saved and how much time they saved that the shower became more popular. There was still quite a bit of evolution that had to be done before the round shower stalls came to pass though. Once the shower was excepted as a standard method of cleaning one's self, the shower started to added into the plumbing of the bathroom. This was still most often attached to a bath tub. More and more people were discontinuing the bath though, preferring the speed and convience of the shower over the relaxation of the bath. To continue the battle against the bath, the medical community concluded that baths and in particular the different bath salts and soaps were responsible for the increase in urinary tract infections for women and children. Soon, the independent showers evolved. It was from these independent showers that the round shower stalls were invented. The first shower stalls were similar to the showers that included a bath. The stalls were very square and bulky. The stalls required the use of a shower curtain and had one shower head mounted to the wall. The round shower stalls changed all this. The round stalls provided a round plexi-glass or glass case in which one could shower, eliminating the need for the shower curtains that were difficult to clean and prone to mold. The round stalls also included a smaller design. Some of these round stalls even boast more than one shower head, resulting in a luxurious and relaxing shower. |
